There are many ways to support Grace Episcopal Church with your treasure.
Pledging
What is a pledge? A pledge is an offering to God and a commitment to give financially for the church’s ministry in the coming year. It is a sign that you belong here. Your pledge is an investment in Grace Episcopal Church as your spiritual home and as a place of welcome and service to others.
How much to give?
Deciding the amount of your pledge takes prayerful contemplation. Start with prayers of gratitude, giving thanks for all of God’s gifts and blessings in your life.
Consider what Grace Episcopal Church means to you and your part in the ministry we share.
Decide how much you will pledge to support our ministry in 2025. Some consider their pledge a sacrificial offering, a tithe (10%) to all charities, including Grace, or percentage returned to God from the gifts God has given. Perhaps a plan over time to reach a tithing level. Others set a dollar amount relative to other contributions. Make your pledge a joyful reflection of God’s own generosity and grace.
Last year, 119 households pledged $407,000 to support the ministries of Grace Episcopal Church.
Grace Church is an inclusive Episcopal community practicing the way of Jesus by loving our neighbors, striving for justice, growing spiritually, and celebrating in word, music, and art. Members of Grace today have greatly benefited from the planned contributions of those who preceded us. Our church would be quite different without these generous gifts.
People should plan for the hard choices that come with death, including medical directives, powers of attorneys, wills and bequests for religious and charitable uses. Many former members have faithfully remembered Grace through a financial instrument or bequest like a will, trust, life insurance or retirement assets. We give thanks for the gifts from members like Irene Dahl, an esteemed member and extraordinary Sunday School teacher at St. James and Eleanor Matsis, a former public school teacher and valued parishioner and senior warden attributed with keeping the “boiler running” at St. Luke’s. Their planned gifts, together with many other planned gifts large and small, make up a part of our operating budget each year. For more information, view our brochure or our detailed presentation on planned giving.
