“When in our music God is glorified, and adoration leaves no room for pride, it is as though the whole creation cried Alleluia!” – F. Pratt Green (The Hymnal 1982, Hymn #420)
The arts play a vital role in worship. Here at Grace we strive to praise God through textiles, fine art, theater craft, and music. From the core singing of hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs by those assembled for worship, to the specially prepared musical offerings by choirs, instruments, and soloists, all music is offered solely to the glory of God. We have five music ensembles, three of which meet weekly during the year (Sept thru May). For more information about any of these groups, contact our Director of Music, Adam Reinwald, at music@graceepiscopalmpls.org.
Our choir sings every Sunday at the 10 o’clock service, September through May. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday, 7:15-8:45 PM, and at 9:15 on Sunday mornings. The choir also sings on special feast days, including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, and Easter. Other singing times include Festival of Lessons and Carols on Advent 4, and special concerts. The choir’s broad repertoire includes selections from classical and contemporary choral music, traditional and contemporary hymns, gospel, and jazz.
Singing five or six Sundays a season, this group practices immediately following 10AM Sunday worship services, beginning around 11:15AM. All school-aged children are welcome!
Chamber Players
High School thru Adult Play during Advent and Lent and for other services and events throughout the year, including Christmas Eve. Because of the substantial repertoire performed by this group, a musical ‘check-in’ must be done with the Director of Music prior to joining the group.
Consists of both experienced and novice recorder players. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 6:30–7:20 pm, and play for Sunday worship, as well as for festival services. Rehearsals begin October 5. We need alto recorder players!
Ring Out! Bell Choir
Ring Out!, Grace's handbell choir, consists of members and friends of the parish. We rehearse Thursday nights from 7:00-8:15 p.m. in the Music Resource Room and play in church throughout the programming year.
We're always happy to welcome new members, including those with ringing experience and those who read music but have never played bells before. We can teach you! Please contact Chris Opsal, Director, at clopsal@gmail.com to learn more or join in.

C.H.I.M.E. (Chimes Harmonizing In Music Exploration)
Hand chime ringing is a wonderful way for children to make music while learning to sight-read, understand rhythm, and play with others. This group is still seeking a time and space to begin. Let David Ostenso Moore, Interim Director of Music, know if you are interested in getting in on the ground floor of this wonderful, new, and exciting venture!
